1.. _code_of_conduct:2 3Contributor Covenant Code of Conduct4++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++5 6Our Pledge7==========8 9In the interest of fostering an open and welcoming environment, we as10contributors and maintainers pledge to making participation in our project and11our community a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of age, body12size, disability, ethnicity, sex characteristics, gender identity and13expression, level of experience, education, socio-economic status, nationality,14personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.15 16Our Standards17=============18 19Examples of behavior that contributes to creating a positive environment20include:21 22* Using welcoming and inclusive language23* Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences24* Gracefully accepting constructive criticism25* Focusing on what is best for the community26* Showing empathy towards other community members27 28 29Examples of unacceptable behavior by participants include:30 31* The use of sexualized language or imagery and unwelcome sexual attention or32 advances33* Trolling, insulting/derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks34* Public or private harassment35* Publishing others’ private information, such as a physical or electronic36 address, without explicit permission37* Other conduct which could reasonably be considered inappropriate in a38 professional setting39 40 41Our Responsibilities42====================43 44Maintainers are responsible for clarifying the standards of acceptable behavior45and are expected to take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to46any instances of unacceptable behavior.47 48Maintainers have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or reject49comments, commits, code, wiki edits, issues, and other contributions that are50not aligned to this Code of Conduct, or to ban temporarily or permanently any51contributor for other behaviors that they deem inappropriate, threatening,52offensive, or harmful.53 54Scope55=====56 57This Code of Conduct applies both within project spaces and in public spaces58when an individual is representing the project or its community. Examples of59representing a project or community include using an official project e-mail60address, posting via an official social media account, or acting as an appointed61representative at an online or offline event. Representation of a project may be62further defined and clarified by project maintainers.63 64Enforcement65===========66 67Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be68reported by contacting the Code of Conduct Committee at69<conduct@kernel.org>. All complaints will be reviewed and investigated70and will result in a response that is deemed necessary and appropriate71to the circumstances.
