Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of brintOS, the online service offered at brintos.io by JD Brinton Consulting, Inc. They are written in plain English because legal copy nobody reads protects nobody.

Last updated: May 22, 2026.

Note: this page is a good-faith summary intended to give a quick read of what you can expect from us and what we expect from you. It is not a substitute for legal advice. The binding Terms of Service will be linked here once we've finished the review with counsel.

1. Who we are

brintOS is operated by JD Brinton Consulting, Inc. ("brintOS", "we", "us"). When we say "the service" we mean brintos.io, the brintOS API, the runtime that executes machines inside your browser, and any related products we offer.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU/UK) to register.
  • You're responsible for keeping your credentials secure. Tell us promptly at security@brintos.io if you suspect compromise.
  • One human, one account. Bots and shared logins are not accounts and may be suspended without notice.

3. Your content

Anything you upload to brintOS — source code, binaries, snapshots, configuration — remains yours. By uploading it you grant us a limited licence to store, transmit, and display it to the audiences you've chosen (public, organisation, or just you). That licence ends when you delete the content.

Public machines are visible to anyone on the internet and may be forked. If that's not what you want, mark them private.

4. Acceptable use

See the acceptable use policy for the full list. The short version: don't use brintOS to attack other systems, distribute malware, infringe copyright, or build illegal products.

5. Billing

  • Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance. Prices are listed on the pricing page.
  • You can cancel at any time from billing settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • We refund unused, paid-in-advance time on annual plans on request within 30 days of cancellation.

6. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms, the acceptable use policy, or after a sustained inability to bill an active paid plan. Where we can, we'll give you notice and a way to export your data first.

7. Warranty & liability

The service is provided "as-is" without warranty. We work hard to keep it up, secure, and fast, but we can't guarantee that every snapshot will be reachable every second of every day. Our maximum liability is capped at the fees you've paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes go to the state and federal courts located in Allegheny County, PA.

9. Changes

We'll update the date at the top of this page when these terms change. For material changes we'll notify registered users by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect.
